Township Government

Commitment - Although we may not always agree, we all have
an opportunity as citizens to be part of the
solution. My goal is to
ask tough questions, encourage honest dialogue,
and work to develop fair and balanced
solutions—both for our current challenges, and
for those that await us in the future.
Competence
- Citizens should expect both commitment and
competence from those that serve in local
government. Continuing education and
certification should be the rule, not the
exception, for both elected officials and staff
members. In am proud to have earned
certification as a
Master Citizen Planner,
Charrette Planner and
Community Association Manager. I am
currently a
Township
Governance Academy (TGA) Candidate and
expect to receive both my TGA and Community
Mediation certification in 2008!
Communication - Staying in touch with the
community has been a hallmark of my service. I think it
is important for EVERY Board Member and
Township
Employee to be accessible to the people they
serve and be willing and able to provide timely
and accurate information regarding all facets of
Township business.
Current, accurate information should be
available to both citizens and stakeholders, via
the web and a monthly e-newsletter. We
should make use of technologies like streaming
video and SMS messaging, to ensure that people
can stay informed, both on a regular basis as
well as in an emergency.
Transparency
- It should be easy for any citizen,
stakeholder, staff member or elected official to
search for any public document.
Implementing tools like document imaging and
Google Search will make it possible for board
members and staff to be more efficient and make
better decisions and help insure the highest
levels of accountability.
